The Baluffe ponds site, owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral and a Natura 2000 zone, is a remarkable natural area, rich in biodiversity. It is home to a specific flora and fauna. The remains of former basalt quarries, these wetlands have a double face, sometimes flooded, sometimes dry, and are rich in flora of heritage interest (protected species, rare species). These include the Water Star, Pyramidal Orchid, Three-bracted Loosestrife, Marbled Newt, Natterjack Toad, Spotted Pelodyte and Pérez/Graf's Frog. Chiropterans, the scientific name for bats, (Pipistrelle commune and Grand murin) and reptiles (Lézard vert and Lézard des murailles) are regular visitors to the site. An information desk has been set up on site to help visitors discover its value and learn how to preserve it.
