It was here, over 2,000 years ago, that the Roman emperor Domitius had a prestigious military road built that would later bear his name: the Via Domitia, linking Italy and Spain, and later becoming a communications and trade route. Thanks to explanatory panels and a cross-section of the Via Domitia, discover the history and construction of this ancient road as you walk along this preserved stretch of road, listed as a Historic Monument. Starting point for an original walk between garrigues and vineyards along the ancient Roman road Practical info: by car, once you've arrived in Pinet, go as far as the cooperative cellar, then follow the "Via Domitia" signs for 3 km to reach the parking lot. Then, on foot, take the first part of the hiking trail to reach the Bois de la Vallongue.
