A haven of peace in the midst of Mediterranean nature, this place of relaxation is best known for being located on the remains of an ancient Roman road. It was here, over 2,000 years ago, that the Roman emperor Domitius had a prestigious military road built that would later bear his name: the Via Domitia, linking Italy and Spain, and later becoming a communications and trade route. Thanks to explanatory panels and a cross-section of the Via Domitia, discover the history and construction of this ancient road as you walk along this preserved stretch of road, listed as a Historic Monument. Starting point for an original walk between garrigues and vineyards along the ancient Roman road Practical info: by car, once you've arrived in Pinet, go as far as the cooperative cellar, then follow the "Via Domitia" signs for 3 km to reach the parking lot. Then, on foot, take the first part of the hiking trail to reach the Bois de la Vallongue.
